Description
Sandstone hoodoo amongst sandstone pillars. A hoodoo (centre) is an erosional feature that formed as the result of differential erosion. The pillar is capped by a piece of rock that protects it from erosion. The unprotected material is eroded by occasional heavy rains, gradually forming a spire. Photographed in Tahaggar, southern Algeria.
