Description
Roy Chapman Andrews. American naturalist and explorer Roy Chapman Andrews (1884-1960). He is most famous for his discovery of the first fossilised dinosaur eggs (bottom centre), later identified as Protoceratops. These he found during an expedition to the Gobi desert in 1923. Andrews spent his entire career at the American Museum of Natural History, where he rose through the ranks from departmental assistant to become museum director. Andrews found few other fossils himself and was instead responsible for promoting the research and exhibitions of the museum.
