Description
Robert Marie Jules Rene Gasnier (born 1874), French aviator. Gasnier initially worked with balloons, making several ascents from 1905. Then, in 1908, Rene and his brother Pierre tested their homemade biplane near the Loire river. Gasnier also worked to promote aeroplane contests, founding the Anjou Circuit in 1912, an aeroplane course in France covering 156 kilometres. Photographed on 18 August 1909.
