Description
Computer illustration of the Bowman's capsule and glomerulus, which performs the first step in filtration of the blood to form urine. Fluids from the blood in the glomerulus are filtered through ultrafiltration and collected in the Bowman's capsule. Small molecules such as water, glucose, salt, amino acids, and urea will pass through into the Bowman's space, but cells and large proteins are retained.
