Description
Pterosaurs (Zhejiangopterus linhaiensis) on the ground, artwork. Pterosaurs, also known as pterodactyls, are an extinct group of flying reptiles that were the first vertebrates to evolve powered flight. Z. linhaiensis lived during the Late Cretaceous, 85-83 million years ago. It had a large head and large wingspan (5 metres). Fossil trackways reveal that pterosaurs were able to walk on the ground using all four limbs.
