Pterodactyls. 1877 illustration of two Pterodactylus sp. flying reptiles in a prehistoric landscape. Pterodactyls fossils are mainly found in Germany, dating to 150 to 148 million years ago, during the Late Jurassic. They were carnivorous predators, feeding on fish and other small animals. They flew with wings formed from a membranous structure stretched between the ankles and a lengthened finger.
