Preserved museum specimens. From left to right, jars contain hawkfish collected during Captain Cook's first Endeavour voyage (1769-1771), swimming crabs (Portunidae family) , collected during Matthew Flinders's Investigator voyage (1798) and Patagonian blennie (Eleginops maclovinus) collected by Charles Darwin during his Beagle voyage (1831-1836). Specimens held at the Natural History Museum's Darwin Centre, London, UK.
