Poppy fruit. Light micrograph of a transverse section through the fruit of an Iceland poppy (Papaver nudicaule), showing the seeds (small dots). The fruit capsule has an outer wall (pericarp). The eight fused chambers have incomplete radial walls or septa (blue). The walls of these septa are where the seeds form. Magnification: x8 when printed at 10 centimetres wide.
