Description
This image from NASA's Cassini spacecraft shows planet Earth (centre) as a point of light between the icy rings of Saturn. The image was taken on April 12th 2017 when Cassini was approximately 1.4 billion km (870 million miles) away from Earth. The Moon is also visible as a tiny speck of light just above the Earth.The F ring can be seen at far left and the A ring is to the right of the Earth with the wide Encke Gap on the far right. The spacecraft Cassini ended its mission in 2017 after more than ten years of activity around Saturn.
