Description
Kymograph. Physiological measurement of a woman using a kymograph. She has a monitor attached to her neck and another strapped around her chest. The kymograph is producing a reading at centre left. A kymograph measures the involuntary movements of the heart and lungs using external physiological signs such as the pulse or expansion of the chest. This kymograph is being used on a psychic medium to record her physiological state during a spiritualist seance. Photographed at the Society for Psychical Research in London, Britain, during the 1920s.
