Description
Claw-toes. The sole of the foot of a patient affected by claw toes at the big toe and the fourth and fifth toes. This is a deformity in which a toe bends downwards so that it curls under itself. Large corns, which may be very painful, are seen here under the affected toes. Corns also commonly develop over the top of the bent joint. The cause of this disorder is unknown. Protective pads are used to relieve excessive pressure from footwear; in severe cases surgical treatment of the toe may be needed.
