Description
Tracks of charged particles in a bubble chamber at the Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory. A positive kaon enters from below and collides with a proton in the chamber's liquid, producing a positive pion (left hand track), a positive kaon, and three unseen neutral particles. One is a lambda, which decays to a proton & a negative pion at centre left. The second, a neutral kaon, decays to a positive and a negative pion at centre right. The third, a neutral pion, instantly decays to 2 gamma rays (also neutral & therefore unseen) which then decay to electron-positron pairs at right. The tracks of positive particles curve anticlockwise and negative particles clockwise in the magnetic field.
