Description
Paleoparadoxia, illustration. This extinct prehistoric mammal is an example of a desmostylian. It lived in coastal regions of the Pacific from 20 to 10 million years ago during the Miocene. It was a large herbivorous aquatic mammal, feeding on seaweed and sea grasses. It reached a length of around 2.2 metres.
