Organic eggs. Eggs are a good dietary source of protein, but also contain high levels of cholesterol, which can cause thickening of artery walls and coronary heart disease. These eggs have been organically produced, meaning that the hens are fed on organic food and reared without antibiotics or growth hormones. The Lion Quality stamp, introduced in 1998, is a registered trademark showing that the eggs have been produced in accordance with the standard set by the British Egg Industry Council. Lion Quality eggs are also stamped with a best before date (BB).
