Coloured scanning electron micrograph (SEM) of Nematode (Trichuris sp.) helminth (whipworm). Trichuris is a genus called whipworms in the family Trichurdae (roundworms). Certain species are parasitic whipworms that occur in the intestine of animals, such as domestic cats and dogs. These roundworms are also called helminths. The name whipworm refers to the shape of the worm which often looks like a curled whip. Magnification x10 when shortest axis printed at 25 millimetres.
