Description
Lomagnupur in southern Iceland has one of the highest cliffs (about 670 metres) in the entire country. At its base is a coastal flat, formed as an abrasion platform when flooded by the Atlantic after the end of the last ice age. Talus cones below the cliff are testimony to recent erosion of the volcanic rock strata, a succession of flood basalts stacked upon each other.
