Description
Liopleurodon extinct marine reptile. Illustration of a liopleurodon (Liopleurodon ferox) hunting a plesiosaur underwater. This extinct reptile lived 160-155 million years ago and belonged to the pliosaur group of carnivorous marine reptiles. It was the largest of the Liopleurodons, measuring up to seven metres in length. With a large powerful jaw and strong paddles for limbs, it was a fast swimmer and voracious hunter.
