Description
Space tourism. Futuristic space tourism poster advertising the delights of Kepler-16b as a tourist destination. A visitor stands on the surface of the planet, casting two shadows as he surveys the twin suns. Kepler-16b is an extrasolar planet orbiting the binary star system Kepler-16, which consists of the stars Kepler-16A (white) and Kepler-16B (orange). The Kepler-16 system lies in the constellation of Cygnus, about 200 light years from Earth. Both stars are smaller than the Sun. The primary star, Kepler-16A, is a class K orange dwarf, and Kepler-16B is a class M red dwarf. Kepler-16b is the first confirmed, unambiguous example of a circumbinary planet - a planet orbiting not one, but two stars.
