Description
Industrial-scale water bath, historical artwork. The furnace at ground level heats the water bath, which is on the first floor of a house. The water bath, which is used for distillation, is made of wood, with metal components to aid heating. Artwork published in De la pirotechnia (Venice, 1540), by the Italian metallurgist Vannoccio Biringuccio (1480-c.1539).
