Description
Spaceblooms. Computer artwork of linked ifyagon spaceblooms (hexagonal), part of a fictional 23rd-century range of edible space flora (xflora). Spaceblooms combine nanotechnology and biotechnology. Several metres in diameter, they drift or move through space, feeding, growing, reproducing, and being harvested for food and other products. Ifyagon moves by newclear power. Spaceblooms were created by Canadian graphic artist and writer Martin Naroznik, using 3-D software programs. Spacebloom: A Field Guide to Cosmic Xflora was published in 2004. There are also plans for an exhibition.
