Description
Hot compress. A bag of magnesium sulphate used as a cold compress to reduce joint and muscular pain. Along with the magnesium sulphate is an inner bag containing water. By squeezing the outer bag, the inner bag is ruptured and the water mixes with the sulphate. This is a strongly exothermic reaction, so the temperature of the bag rises.
