Description
Hornet on a poppy flower. Many plants rely on insects to pollinate their flowers. An insect may be attracted to a flower by nectar. When the insect lands to feed, sticky pollen (yellow) attaches to it legs and body from the anthers (male reproductive parts, brown/black). When the insect visits another flower the pollen is transferred to the stigma (female reproductive structure), thus pollinating the flower.
