Description
Histological stains. Baths of coloured solutions used for staining microscope slides in a histology laboratory. Slides containing biological preparations, such as tissue sections, are dipped into the different types of stain. The different solutions stain different features on the slide. For example, haematoxylin stains cell nuclei blue/black, whereas eosin stains cell cytoplasm and connective tissue fibres pink, orange and red.
