Description
Head of a slender sharksucker (Echeneis naucrates), a type of remora. Remoras are fish that have a symbiotic relationship with many large sea animals. They attach to their host by a sucker on top of their head. They clean the host's skin of parasites and eat left-over scraps. The host in turn provides protection for the remora. Photographed in the Pacific, in French Polynesia.
