Description
Full Moon circa 1899, stereoscopic card. These are paired stereoscopic images which provide a 3D image (stereogram) when viewed side-by-side. The mapping of the Moon with telescopes started with Galileo in 1610, and then developed further over the centuries as telescopes improved. The far side of the Moon was not observed until the era of spaceflight. Image published by Strohmeyer and Wyman (New York) and sold by Underwood and Underwood.
