Description
Free-range eggs in an egg box. Eggs are a good dietary source of protein, but also contain high levels of cholesterol, which can cause thickening of artery walls and coronary heart disease. These eggs are from free-range hens, those that are able to move around to search for their food, rather than being kept in cages. The Lion Quality stamp, introduced in 1998, is a registered trademark showing that the eggs have been produced in accordance with the standard set by the British Egg Industry Council. Lion Quality eggs are also stamped with a best before date (BB).
