Description
First calculator wristwatch. First-ever digital calculator wristwatch, the HP01 Wristwatch Instrument, designed by the American Hewlett- Packard company in 1977. It had a digital watch combined with a calculator which was operated by using the buttons on the lower half of its face. It was bulky and cost 75, 000 American dollars ($) in 1977. Unsurprisingly, it was commercially unsuccessful but has since become a collector's item; its value in 1996 is about $150, 000. Photographed at the Hewlett- Packard Museum in Palo Alto, USA.
