Copper (I) oxide on a watch glass. Copper(I) oxide (Cu2O) has a molar mass of 143.09 grams per mole. It is also known as cuprous oxide, cuprite, dicopper oxide and red copper oxide. It is an inorganic compound and one of the main oxides of copper. It is used in some antifouling paints for vessels. Copper (I) oxide is the product of both Fehling's and Benedict's tests for reducing sugars.
