Description
Film about human ancestors. Storyboard sketches, computer-generated imagery (CGI) and a model head, all used for the French film-documentary A Species Odyssey (2003). The hands are those of the film's artistic director Philippe Sonrier. The film was directed by Jacques Malaterre, and used models and CGI to trace the story of human evolution over millions of years. A sabre-toothed tiger is seen on the screen, with an early hominid. The sketches show the sabre-toothed tiger hunting and killing these early ancestors of humans. The species featured in the film included Orrorin tugenensis, Australopithecus afarensis and Australopithecus anamensis.
