Euglena sp. is a freshwater unicellular (single-celled) organism that obtains energy either from sunlight by photosynthesis, or by absorbing chemicals from its surroundings. Cyanobacteria (also known as blue-green algae) are bacteria that obtain their energy through photosynthesis. Magnification: x100 when printed 10 centimetres wide.
