The diagram shows the tropics and the polar zones, with standard climate zones ('dia') named for various cities and locations: Diameroes (Meroe, Sudan); Diasyenes (Syene; Aswan, Egypt); Dialexandrios (Alexandria, Egypt); Diarhodos (Rhodes, Greece); Diaromes (Rome, Italy); Diaboristenes (Scythian river Borysthenes); and Diaripheos (Riphean Mountains).
