Description
Dot moth (Melanchra persicariae). The flight period of this moth is usually July and August. It is found in gardens, waste ground and roadside verges and occurs widely across the palearctic ecozone. The larvae feed on a wide range of cultivated and wild plants including trees. Photographed in Somerset, UK, in July.
