Description
Damaged heart tissue, fluorescence deconvolution micrograph. Fluorescent dyes have been used to highlight tissues, cellular structures and proteins: cardiac muscle (green), cell nuclei (blue). The haphazard arrangement of the muscle fibres, and the lack of normal features, indicates the damaged nature of the tissue, which was obtained from a heart failure patient.
