Description
Commercial wood-fuelled boiler. Wood being placed inside the combustion chamber of a commercial wood-fuelled boiler. The flue pipe (upper centre) removes the combustion gases, while the heat produced by the burning of the wood is used to heat water in a boiler (left). The burning of wood as a fuel is considered carbon-neutral, as carbon dioxide was removed from the atmosphere to form the wood. Modern technology, as seen here, has also improved the efficiency of wood-fuelled systems. This wood-fuelled boiler is a Froling FHG Turbo log boiler. The Froling company, from Austria, was founded in 1961 and has been producing the Turbo firewood boiler since 1988. The latest model is the FHG Turbo 3000.
