Coil of enamelled copper, which is copper wire coated with an insulator. This wire is often used to make coils and electromagnets, and is also known as magnet wire. The 'enamel' is a hard-wearing polymer film. Examples of the use of this wire include: electric motors, transformers, inductors, generators, headphones and loudspeaker coils.
