Description
Brocklesbury Park stables and clock (upper left). This clock was built by the English clockmaker John Harrison (1693-1776) in around 1722. This clock has a wooden movement made of oak and lignum vitae, and is still keeping good time nearly 300 years later. Harrison is famous as the inventor of the marine chronometer that solved the problem of determining longitude at sea. Brocklesbury Park, in Lincolnshire, UK, is the home of the Earl of Yarborough.
