Description
Black-browed albatross (Thalassarche melanophrys) and chick. The albatross lays a single egg, which is incubated for about 2 months. The chick will stay on the nest for a further 2 months. This bird spends most of its life at sea, only coming to land, on the islands of the southern oceans, to breed. It is an endangered species. Photographed at Saunders Island, West Falkland, the Falkland Islands.
