Description
Apple scab fungus infection. Ripe apples infected by the pest fungus, Venturia inaequalis. This Ascomycete fungus causes apple scab. It damages the upper surface of the leaves of the plant with discoloured olive-brown lesions. The fruit seen here also shows olive-brown lesions growing on the skin, and the fruit becomes distorted, dwarfed and unmarketable.
