Description
Apollo Command Module main control panel, illustration. The Command/Service Module spacecraft was used during the Apollo programme which landed astronauts on the Moon. The main control panel in the Command Module was arranged into three areas. The mission commander's panel (left) included the primary flight controls. The Command Module pilot panel (centre) included the guidance and navigation computer controls and environmental controls. The Lunar Module pilot's control panel (right) included the fuel cell, electrical, and communications controls. In total, the Command Module panels were equipped with 24 instruments, 566 switches, 40 event indicators, and 71 lights.
