Description
Ancient Egyptian stone jar. Part of an alabaster two-handled jar excavated in Egypt, with cartouches naming Egyptian pharaoh Tutankhamun and his wife, cousin and half-sister Queen Ankhesenamun. The names in the cartouches are written in hieroglyphs. Tutankhamun was an Egyptian pharaoh, a boy king, who died in his late teens. He ruled from 1333-1324 BC in the period of Ancient Egypt known as the New Kingdom. This object is part of the collections at the Petrie Museum of Egyptian Archaeology at University College London (UCL).
