Description
Early 20th century ophthalmoscopy tool. Ophthalmoscopic tools are used to examine the interior of the eye and measure its optical properties. This is a keratometer designed by the Chicago-based F. A. Hardy company and dating from 1900. This instrument measures the curvature of the cornea, allowing assessment of the degree of a condition known as astigmatism.
