Description
Titan. Cassini spacecraft image of the dark side of Titan, Saturn's largest moon. The moon's thick atmosphere is illuminated from behind by sunlight. A less bright outer haze layer is also seen over the entire globe. The Cassini-Huygens spacecraft was launched in 1997 to investigate Saturn, its rings and its moons. This image was taken at a distance of 134,000 kilometres on 15 February 2005.
