Description
Andean Condor Conservation Project. Researchers checking a weather station used in research for the Andean Condor Conservation Project. The project, founded in 1991, aims to reintroduce Andean condors (Vultur gryphus) to the wild through captive breeding programs and nursing injured birds back to health. Each bird that is released is fitted with a tracking chip to give researchers a better idea of how these animals live. Photographed in Patagonia, Chile.
