Description
Titan's surface. Cassini spacecraft aperture radar image of the surface of Titan, Saturn's largest moon. The clusters of dark streaks, named 'cat scratches' are thought to be linear dunes formed by wind. The streaks measure up to 1 kilometre across and are spaced at 1 to 2 kilometre intervals. The Cassini-Huygens spacecraft was launched in 1997 to investigate Saturn, its rings and its moons. This image was taken in February 2005.
