Description
Oil spill damage control in a rainforest. Workers monitoring and cleaning up spilt oil in the Amazon rainforest, Ecuador. They are pumping the oil out of the affected site and into a recovery tank (upper right). Oil accounts for over half of Ecuador's exports. Much of the oil lies below the rainforests in the east of the country, and there are concerns that the continuing expansion of Ecuador's oil industry will increase environmental damage.
