Coloured scanning electron micrograph (SEM) of Capnocytophaga canimorsus DF-2; Gram-negative, gliding rod or filamentous prokaryote. C. canimorsus is a canine or feline oral pathogen that is a zoonotic microorganism. It can be transmitted from dog to man through a dog bite; causes septicaemia and meningitis in humans. It often grows with a coccoid Streptococcus bacterium (seen here). Magnification: x1,965 when shortest axis printed at 25 millimetres.
