Description
Military arctic survival training. Navy recruit packing a snowsled, also known as a pulk, during arctic survival training in Northern Greenland. The recruit is training to become a member of the Royal Danish Navy's SIRIUS sledge patrol unit. The primary task of SIRIUS is to patrol, survey and protect Danish territory in North and Northeast Greenland. During training, the recruits must learn to survive sub-zero temperatures, create emergency snow shelters, hunt for food and drive dogsledge teams.
