Winter Hexagon asterism. Optical image of the stars of the Winter Hexagon asterism, seen in the night sky of the Northern Hemisphere. This set of six bright stars forms the shape of a hexagon. Clockwise from top: Capella (just right of top centre), Aldebaran (orange giant star, centre right), Rigel (lower right), Sirius (lower left), Procyon (centre left), and Pollux (upper left). This asterism dominates a large area of the winter sky in the Northern Hemisphere. The orange star at centre is the red supergiant star Betelgeuse.
