MODEL RELEASED. Sperm whale (Physeter macrocephalus) bone preparation. Conservator Abdi Hedayat from the Zoological Museum in Copenhagen soaks sperm whale bones in caustic soda and hydrogen peroxide over a two week period. This process bleaches the bones in readiness for assembly and public display. This whale was first found stranded on Henne Strand, Jutland, Denmark. It measured 14 meters in length and weighed an estimated 30 tonnes.
