Description
MODEL RELEASED. Policewoman wearing body armour. This type of vest is made from layers of Kevlar augmented by sheets of metal (steel or titanium). It protects the wearer from shots fired from firearms by spreading the force of the bullet over a larger area of the body's surface. The individual layers of fabric catch the bullet, deforming the round and preventing the bullet reaching the skin. In addition, a layer of resin hardened glass-fibre between the Kevlar layers prevents knife blades entering the jacket.
